Elegant Homes pride themselves for constantly making sure that all of their materials and products more than exceed current codes.

We build all homes to Energy Star Standards using Building Science. We also build all homes similar to the American Lung Association Health Home. There are many components to achieving these standards. Some of which include:

1. Go-Bolts: This is a engineering break through on a new way of enforcing hurricane resistance. http://www.go-bolt.com/
2. Mold Prevention: We spray a chemical to all exterior walls to prevent mold.
3. House Wrap: We use only Tyvac made by Dupont. Don't be fooled this is the best in the market. We also use the Tyvac Windows Flex. In the event that the window leaks, this will prevent the water from seeping into the lumber below. We also incline the window seal, so that if the window does leak it goes outside the home and out the weep holes. This will keep wood rot from starting, and keep the mold out. On stucco applications, we double wrap the home. This allows moisture to escape.
4. Insulation: Our insulation package is second to none. We not only use the blown in method, but also make sure that all top plate penetrations are sealed. The material consists of little to no paper. This controls the food source for Mold. Elegant Homes places baffles in every rafter. This makes the attic cooler and drier. Most of our attics are now cooled by a ridge vent system. This allows more airflow and has a much better cosmic look.
5. Sheetrock: Elegant Homes only uses sheetrock produced in the USA. This sheetrock is more durable and does not break down as easily. We use thicker sheetrock on the ceiling, and apply screws to the majority of the material. In most cases this will keep your ceiling from sagging and keep the walls from bulging. Around high water areas, we install hardi backer. Hardi backer will not absorb water, making mold difficult to produce. Around other water areas (such as bathrooms), we install green board. Green board is much more water resistant vrs conventional sheetrock. We dare you to compare.
6. Elegant Homes installs a high-powered quiet Panasonic Fan standard in the Master Bath room. This allows moisture to escape, keeping the bathroom dryer and cleaner, reducing musty odors. All of our homes also come with an exhaust for the microwave to escape outside. Ask our agent about the fans that we install in the garage.
7. A/C System: The a/c system normally comes with either a humidity control or a dehumidifier as well with a air scrubber. This kills enzymes, benzenes, odors, dander, and other air hazards. Ask our agent for details. Both of these systems keep the inside of your home drier and more comfortable. We also install return air in all bedrooms. This keeps the home on positive pressure, keeping the outside wet, hot air out.
